non-contract contracts

No, I'm not talking about car company debt or mortgage note holders.

Rolling stone gets down on both knees for Obama:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/new…

Less than halfway through his first term, Obama has compiled a remarkable track record. As president, he has rewritten America’s social contract to make health care accessible for all citizens.
This is what kills me about the concept of a social contract: if it was really a contract presidents wouldn't get to re-write it regularly.  Especially not with less than a majority of people wanting to redefine the terms of the deal. That's not a "contract" in any meaningful way, it's just a pleasant sounding obfuscation for "what the people who currently have power want to do."
