Two Charts about the Federal Budget

[This is where I would insert an expletive if my friends didn't read this from their very uptight offices.]

Those are from two Keith Hennessey posts: "The President's bigger budget" and "Which is the decade of profligacy?"

My father worked on the Hill back in the late 70s/early 80s, and he tells a story about how Democrats of his acquaintance used to bemoan the hash-up that was the Carter administration by sighing and saying how much they missed Nixon.

Well, I never thought I'd be saying this but ... [hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr] ... I really miss Clinton.
